In 2007 the
Massachusetts Department of Public Health commissioned an
outside group to survey the family members of all patients in
Massachusetts nursing homes. The purpose of the survey was to
ascertain the family member’s satisfaction with the level of
services provided in Massachusetts nursing homes. The following
are some of the comments the Salter Homes received.

like I was part of an extended family who was looking out for me

2010-"Hi, My name is Nancy Melanson. My Dad's name is George Norton.
My family wants to thank you for the wonderful care my father
received at your facility. My mother worked in Nursing Care for
most of her life. She said that your facility was the way
nursing care should be. We were treated with so much respect. We
would like to especially thank Ann Marie. She was wonderful!! We
will always be grateful for the phone call that allowed us to
come back in time to be with Dad when he passed. We had only
been gone for just an hour and she called us. My Dad was there
at the end of October. He was treated so humanely and so were
all of the family that came in each day. I can't say enough good
about the care he received both physically and emotionally.
Thank you so much, my Dad was a truly remarkable human being. He
received the treatment he deserved at the end of his life. My
Dad dedicated his life to helping others, especially seniors and
for him to be treated with such respect as he passed was more
