Salter HealthCare is pleased to announce that Woburn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center was recently awarded their second consecutive deficiency-free survey by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
Located at 18 Frances Street in Woburn, MA, the Woburn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is a 140-bed, skilled nursing facility that specializes in short-term rehabilitation as well as traditional long-term nursing services.
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health performs unannounced evaluations of health care facilities every nine to fifteen months to assess compliance with state and federal regulations. The survey examines a myriad of quality, safety and performance issues, including medication management, cleanliness, environmental safety, administrative effectiveness, and respect for the rights and dignity of patients. With the ever more demanding regulations for Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing facilities, it is significant for facilities like Woburn to achieve a deficiency-free survey.
The Woburn facility recently completed its Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) recertification as well. CARF accreditation demonstrates a facility’s commitment to ongoing innovation, continued conformance to standards, and enhancement of the services and programs they offer.
Woburn’s post-acute rehabilitation program provides care focused on helping patients regain the ability to live independently in their community. The Woburn center offers a wide range of services and programs that meet post-acute patients’ needs including post-surgical therapy, which includes orthopedic rehabilitation after joint replacement, pain management, wound management, and complex rehabilitation.
Special amenities also available to short-term rehab patients include updated private rooms, in-room telephones and flat screen televisions with cable service, WiFi, free parking, hairdressing/barber services, an emergency call system, and common spaces for social activities.
