Salter HealthCare’s Aberjona, Winchester and Woburn Rehabilitation and Nursing Centers have received perfect scores on their annual surveys from the Massachusetts Department of Health and Five-Star Quality Ratings from the Federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for overall performance in health inspections, nurse staffing, and quality of health care.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health performs unannounced evaluations of health care facilities every nine to fifteen months to assess compliance with state and federal regulations. The survey examines a myriad of quality, safety and performance issues, including medication management, cleanliness, environmental safety, administrative effectiveness and respect for the rights and dignity of patients.
The CMS ratings were developed using combined information from state health inspection reports, nurse staffing information and selected quality measures of clinical care reported at the Nursing Home Compare web site run by the Federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. These important ratings systems help patients and their families find the best of the best in nursing home and rehabilitative care.
